Course Objectives

• To teach managers how technology can help them with their jobs and improve decision-making.
• To show how technology is used to integrate the business disciplines.
• To introduce students to business cases, so they learn to solve business problems with information technology.
• To introduce students to the strategic applications of technology.
• To introduce students to the issues and problems involved in building complex systems and organizing information resources.
• To introduce the social implications of information technology.

Course Description

The basis of information and general systems and how they fit into a decision making environment. An introduction to systems analysis in relation to managing information systems.

Attendance

Attendance is the responsibility of the student. Historically, students who miss several classes tend to receive one grade lower than other students.

I will give "make-up" exams only in the case of emergencies. The student is responsible for notifying me before the scheduled test.

Assignments

Assignments are due at class time on the specified date. Late assignments might not be accepted and can be penalized 10% per day.

Cheating

If I find assignments that are copies of each other, all students involved will receive a zero for the assignment.
