11. How does peer-to-peer collaboration differ from Microsoft SharePoint?
SharePoint relies on a central server that (1) costs money and (2) typically requires support and control from a central IT department. Peer-to-peer connections can be established quickly (as long as it is possible to find the participant’s computers on the network), and are completely controlled by the participants. P2P also supports immediate interaction, such as Live Meeting and Meeting Space, where participants can jointly work on documents at the same time and see the changes immediately.
